MILDRED FLOYD SCHMERTZ

Mildred Schmertz, FAIA

The first born of Bob Schmertz' four children, Mildred claims she was behind the door when they were handing out musical talent. But she must have been at the head of the line when other artistic abilities were conferred.

Mildred Schmertz, FAIA, is a distinguished architectural writer, journalist and editor. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University and a Masters of Fine Arts from Yale University. Ms. Schmertz has been a visiting lecturer at Yale School of Architecture and Parson School of Design. She has also served as a Commissioner on the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
